Dr Diogo Trajano Gomes Da Silva holds a PhD in Water and Food Microbiology from the University of Brighton (UK). His areas of research interests include health-related water microbiology, microbial source tracking (MST), waterborne disease control, Water and Sanitation Safety Plans, shellfish safety and WASH. Recently, Dr Trajano worked  as a Research Fellow at the University of Brighton on a USAID-funded project entitled “Applied Research on Disinfection to Prevent Ebola Transmission” and an MSF-funded project entitled “Applied research into the disinfection of human excreta in emergency settings using highly concentrated chlorine solutions (ARDHEES)”.
